Merve Yılmaz was born in Istanbul in 1991. She graduated from Istanbul Technical University’s Department of Environmental Engineering in 2013. In 2016, she completed her master’s degree in the same department, specializing in Vibratory Membrane Bioreactors. After a short break, she commenced her doctoral studies in Environmental Biotechnology in 2018. As part of her PhD research, she focuses on the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of wastewater treatment systems, and her studies are ongoing.

Throughout both her master’s and doctoral education, she has been actively involved in research at the Istanbul Technical University Prof. Dr. Dincer Topacik National Membrane Technologies Application and Research Center (MEMTEK), which was established in 2010. She has contributed as a researcher to numerous projects and scientific organizations conducted within MEMTEK.
